The mission of
GAFFA is to protect
children in out-of-home care by providing them with
a safe, compassionate and stable foster family.
To work together as a team with the social services
system and helping professions including child care
providers, educators, counseling and medical
professionals, law enforcement officials and foster
parents to identify, understand and meet the needs
of all foster children.
GAFFA
does not
discriminate against anyone based on race, color,
sex, handicap, religion or national origin.
The agency focuses
on the growth of both foster parents and children
placed in their care. Our founding principle
centered on providing a nurturing environment in
order to promote a healthy and healing relationship.
GAFFA
provides services to
children who have been damaged by abuse, neglect and
other trauma. Children who are placed in our
care struggle daily against interpersonal and social
obstacles to survive; sometimes without the hope of
reuniting with their biological families.
Our vision is based
on the premise that it takes an entire community to
raise a child. Our agency has achieved great
success in providing adequate living conditions for
children in inadequate situations. We utilize
our resources and community support as a means of
positively impacting children and their future.
It is also our aim to provide services to
young-adults after-foster care by providing
assistance in attaining self-sufficiency and
independence.
